Glamour model Sophie Reade was voted the winner of Channel 4’s Big Brother 2009 last night. Beating Siavash Sabbaghpour (2nd) and David Marsden (3rd)

Winner of Big Brother 2009 - Sophie Reade

The 20-year-old from Cheshire proved the bookies right and won show including the £71,320 prize. Sophie looked visibly stunned when she was told she had won and said “I’d never thought I’d win. I can’t believe it.”

The launch of this series (10th) pulled in 4.8 million viewers but since then the figures have dwindled down to around 1.6 million. The first 3 series were watched by over 10 million people and as a result of the plummet in viewing figures Channel 4 confirmed last month that the 11th series next year would be the last, Which is great news for some and others will be disappointed about the show being axed.
