This comes at the time when Facebook have just launched their new and imporved ‘home’ design, which has a more web 2.0 feel to it.
Personally I cant see it rivalling Facebook’s 400 million users, but seemingly its trying to target Google’s 170 million Gmail users. Google have previously failed to create a social network with the site orkut, which has only really seen success in Brazil and India.
Watch this space.

Since Google is the big boy of the search engine, ranking high in Google is a plus! But, Google Buzz has a privacy issue that needs to be taken care of first. For this coming years, consumers and businesses will be more concern about privacy issues verse ranking high in search engine.
I’m not one of the lucky ones either, keeping my eye open tho. I didn’t realize what the point of it was until I saw that you called it a “Twitter killer”. 140 character lift and I’m in.
Besides Facebook and twitter, Will it also work with Myspace? Myspace is right behind Facebook and is a really big social network too, so can you update your status on myspace on Buzz like you can with FB and twitter?
Google is rolling out Buzz gradually to Gmail users. Some people already have it, for some people it will take a few more days. When they’ve rolled it out for you, when you log in to your account you will get a one-time screen telling you that Buzz is activated.
Anyone else launching a site to rival Facebook would fail. But Google, that could be a different story. Their power knows no ends, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this succeed. Gogole don’t usually start something they don’t think is worth it.
