So I went to see that new film Real Steel staring Hugh Jackman. When It came to the inevitable David Vs Goliath robot fight at the end between Zeus and Atom, I noticed that the Xbox 720 logo was in an advertising banner around the arena, which just happened to be a banner in the Microsoft ‘bing’ arena. So I did a little digging and it seem that people think that this is bullshit and that its just fake to make it fit in with the year the film is set in, but lets be honest here, this could be one of the biggest hints ever.

I think its a huge marketing ploy, I mean a new Xbox console advert shown inside an arena sponsored by Microsoft, CMON. Why are people being so pessimistic, be optimistic. Maybe Microsoft are genuinely doing a product placement, just like all the other product placements in the film such as HP. Even if its not definite this is some proof that the Xbox 720 is a concept being trialed, or prehaps this is the reaction Microsoft wanted, a sneaky way to find your opinion on the name.

Alongside all the speculation over the name of the next Xbox console, there is one thing we can be sure of, Microsoft will no doubt bring out an 8th generation console at some point within the next 2-5 years. I agree with those who feel that maybe Xbox 720 isn’t the best name and perhaps they should re-think the name of their next console.

Call of Duty: Black ops is due for release in November, and like MW2 im sure it will spark a price war between the major retailers. MW2 was available on release date in Sainsbury and Morrisons for £28.99, with a limit of 2 copies per person. Comet, Currys and PC World all offered a price match, if you could prove the price, and that there was stock left, so take advantage of this. I think ASDA and Tesco were selling at £36 instore on the day.

Pre orders on Amazon started at £39.99, but a few days before release they reduced their prices and refunded the discount back onto your card.

Based on this, I can see Call of Duty: Black Ops being around the £30 mark for the first week or so. If you want to guarantee that you will get it on release day then I would suggest you pre-order it with amazon, as the somtimes get it to you a day or two before release date, and they usually reduce their price in-line with most of the price wars.

Update 27/10/10: Amazon is cheapest, currently selling it at £39.90. Pre order it today, remember stocks will be sold out everywhere!

On the 4th Day Of Christmas Gifts, I recommend to you: the iPod Touch

As we all know it’s Christmas coming up, we begin to look for good presents, we don’t want to be cheap when buying someone a present as that would give us a bad image, so if you’re looking to buy something mid-price for your close friends/boyfriend/girlfriends or a family member – I’m suggesting iPod Touch! The main reason for this is because all of us love music, no matter what style we all do, so why not get the hottest gadget for music that is out there, iPod touch is well known for all of us, however if you’re not too sure about all of its features then I can help!

First of all, Yes it plays music, however there’s more to it than you can playback videos and film. You can install apps that range from games, to instant messengers, to internet browsers to even silly little ones that count down how many days there is left until Christmas, your choice! You can also connect to your Wi-Fi allowing you to browse and message your friends as you would on a normal laptop or desktop!

Cool little gadget isn’t it? Yeah, for cheapest deals I recommend ebay, you can get one from around £100! That present will light someone’s light bulbs after they open it!

I do apologize for not posting this sooner.

On the 3rd Day Of Christmas Gifts, I recommend to you: The iPhone 3GS

No Christmas list is complete without the addition of an iPhone 3GS this year, as one of the hottest gadgets to hit the market, not just this year, I am talking ever hear, it’s clear that everyone from kids to adults is going to be wanting one of these!

Once upon a time Apple was riding on the touch screen technology to make it’s iPhone unique in the mobile market, though with other companies quickly coming onboard with this, Apple executed their plan B to differentiate themselves from other smart phones with one of the most robust and extensive applications centre known as the ‘App Store’. This is probably one of the most decision-making features that the iPhone 3G has over other smart phones that’s got everyone craving for it in their stockings this year!

We’ve all seen the adverts, from racing games to catching cabs, GPS to locating your parked car, is it any wonder the iPhone 3G appeals to such a large market!

Definitely a gadget that’s going to be on a lot of Christmas lists this year, as to whether they will be getting it is another story with hefty price tags ranging from £342.50 – £538.30 for different models on PAYG!

On the 2nd Day Of Christmas Gifts, I recommend to you: The Dyson DC25

The Dyson DC25 is an ideal Christmas present, and a great addition to the household cleaning products. Watch the wife zip around the room with her new dyson, heck even the husbands will want a go.

The Dyson DC25 uses the fantastic new Dyson with ball technology!

We’ve had the DC25 for a little over 6 months, and have been very impressed with the performance. The new ‘ball’ is the fulcrum around which the rest of the cleaner moves, allowing easy flowing motion
as you manoeuvre around furniture, and get in close to the skirting boards.

The ball enables the cleaner to move in any direction with swift fluid action, making it so much easier to clean the floors. In addition to this dynamic action, the cleaning ability and suction is very powerful, so there is no hurry to get a replacement.

While waiting for delivery of our DC25 we were using a perfectly good vacuum cleaner, it picked up visible dirt, dropped crumbs, mud etc, but when we received the new Dyson we were totally amazed at how much dirt the cleaner picked up out of the carpet. The Dyson is bagg-less and has a clear central cylinder, where the dirt is deposited, this filled up very quickly, and demonstrated how much more efficient the DC25 is.

I would recommend the Dyson DC25 to anyone, and would say anyone can handle this cleaner with ease.

This best price listed online today is from Dixons at £239 with free shipping, YES free shipping.

Good luck trying to wrap your Dyson DC25 ;)
