The worlds population is expected to hit 7 Billion people within the next few weeks. At the beginning the rate of growth was rather slow, but in the past 50 years the population has almost doubled in size, thats alot of people! Some quick stats:

- Under-25s make up 43% of the global population, but they make up 60% of the world’s least-developed countries. Some 97 out of every 100 new births are in countries classified as less developed than the United Kindom.

-The worlds population is expected to hit 10 billion in 2083, with most of the growth coming from countries less developed than the UK. Very little of the current growth comes from the UK.

-The UN estimates that if current population and consumption trends continue, by the 2030s we will need the equivalent of two Earths to support us.

Do you think Col Gaddafi is dead or alive? The BBC and other media groups are reporting that he is dead, however it is yet to be independently verified, with some other sources reporting that he has be captured alive.

My opinion of the man still hasn’t changed, he got what he deserved. I know I know as the saying goes “two wrongs dont make a right” but in this case I feel we can make a small exception. His years of dictatorship he had over Libya, kept the country in a constant perpetual reveltuion.

Its about time this whole saga came to an end and allow the country to grow. The timely death of Gaddafi now means that Libya is now free to prosper and grow as a nation. Good luck to them.

So I casually had the news on in the background and happened the hear that your are now able to apply to be a London 2012 volunteer.

Upon first hearing this I got all excited about the possibility of being a volunteer in one of the best sporting events in my short stay on this planet, visions started to pop into my head of watching Usain Bolt break a new record or watching the weightlifting while being a steward.

However my bubble was soon burst when I hered this quote along these lines, “Applicants agree to accept the venue they are given, this could range from the Olympic stadium to a car park.” Now if im honest there isntt much luck with me, so I would most likely lumbered with the car park attendant job.

Never the less I shall still ponder weather to apply or not.

Call of Duty: Black ops is due for release in November, and like MW2 im sure it will spark a price war between the major retailers. MW2 was available on release date in Sainsbury and Morrisons for £28.99, with a limit of 2 copies per person. Comet, Currys and PC World all offered a price match, if you could prove the price, and that there was stock left, so take advantage of this. I think ASDA and Tesco were selling at £36 instore on the day.

Pre orders on Amazon started at £39.99, but a few days before release they reduced their prices and refunded the discount back onto your card.

Based on this, I can see Call of Duty: Black Ops being around the £30 mark for the first week or so. If you want to guarantee that you will get it on release day then I would suggest you pre-order it with amazon, as the somtimes get it to you a day or two before release date, and they usually reduce their price in-line with most of the price wars.

Update 27/10/10: Amazon is cheapest, currently selling it at £39.90. Pre order it today, remember stocks will be sold out everywhere!

I was browsing through Facebook last night and a friends Facebook status said:

“It makes me sad that there will be a generation brought up thinking that “All The Small Things” is a fucking Jedward original”

This is a very valid point and is a big problem within the mainstream music industry. I’m 19 and I am able to remember the original version by blink 182, however the above quote is so true, in the sense that younger generation will be ‘brainwashed’ into thinking that its a Jedward song.

Jedward were a crowd pleaser on the X factor but frankly cant do much other than dance around a stage. They choose songs that had very little ’singing’ involved. Now they have been rocketed onto our screens and radios with 2 covers of great songs. Is that all they are capable of?

The same thing has happened with the classic “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey, which was covered by the Glee Cast and Big Brother 11. I even saw it with my own eyes, people updating their status with things like “it’s way better than the original” WTF!!!1@*# I mean they mascaraed it, but each to their own as they say.

Dont get me wrong I love most mainstream music, some may even call me a sheep, but if its what I like I cant change what my ears like to hear. It is however a sad state of affairs when an annoying duo, who didn’t even win a talent competition, ruin a classic and then the younger generation become tricked into thinking its their song.
