Google Buzz has been developed by Google to rival the likes of social networking giants Facebook and Twitter. Google buzz is currently being rolled out to everyone, so it should be appearing in peoples Gmail accounts soon.

Features:

No setup needed
Automatically follow the people you email and chat with the most in Gmail.

Share publicly or privately
Publish your ideas to the world or just to your closest friends.

Inbox integration
Comments get sent right to your inbox so it’s easy to keep the conversation going.

Photo friendly
See thumbnails with each post, and browse full-screen photos from popular sites.

Connect sites you already use
Import your stuff from Twitter, Picasa, Flickr, and Google Reader.

See updates in real time:
New posts and comments pop in as they happen. No refresh required.

Just the good stuff
Buzz recommends interesting posts and weeds out ones you’re likely to skip.

This comes at the time when Facebook have just launched their new and imporved ‘home’ design, which has a more web 2.0 feel to it.

Personally I cant see it rivalling Facebook’s 400 million users, but seemingly its trying to target Google’s 170 million Gmail users. Google have previously failed to create a social network with the site orkut, which has only really seen success in Brazil and India.

Watch this space.

Over the past few weeks interwebz.co.uk has been getting so many irrelevant and dam right shit comments, posted by people who are just commenting for the nice juicy do-follow link. Im sure alot of bloggers agree with me on this, its just a dam right SPAM.

Granted I have done my fair share of blog commenting to gain an extra bit of link juice, but I bloody well read the article and attempt to make a comment that I feel is relevant and contributes to the topic in question. I mean the least you could do is post a decent comment seems your getting a backlink out of it, YOU LAZY GITS. Im sick and tired of seeing 5/6 comments a day like this:

Im a troll: Hi, I dont always agree with your post but ive bookmarked your blog. Have a good day mate.

Firstly you have not bookmarked my blog you little fibber you and secondly im not your mate, MATE.

People are to eager to jump up the SERP’s and often this is their biggest downfall. Gaining a number 1 position in Google for a desired keyword is not going to happen over night.

If you want blog comments to help you your SEO then here are a few points that you might want to consider when commenting on blogs:

    1. PLEASE, please read the article before commenting, it always helps if you know what the topic is about to post a decent comment. Most of the time you may learn something new, so there is no reason why you shouldnt read it.
    2. If your going to comment make it longer than just “Thanks” or “Have a nice day”. Most blog owners, including me, will just hit “DELETE” as soon as they see these.
    3. Use your head. If your targeting a certain niche then at least comment on a relevant article. I get people commenting on a Merry Christmas post, when they are advertising “Yahoo cam girls”, I mean come on.

I hope this will clear a few things up for you dam spamming trolls. Either leave a decent comment or ill just keep hitting “delete”.

Thanks ;)

Apple have revealed the Apple iPad. It seems that the rumours were right. Im still puzzled as to what the main function of the iPad is for? To me it looks like an overgrown iPhone. Looks impresive though.

Prices are set at:

16GB –
$499 WI-FI
$629 WI-FI + 3G

32GB -
$599 WI-FI
$729 WI-FI + 3G

64GB -
$699 WI-FI
$829 WI-FI + 3G

The 16GB seems a reasonable price. The iPad is going to rival most netbooks, with a high probability of dominating the market. I for one would prefer an Apple iPad rather than an eee PC.

If you think its too expensive… fear not! you can get one free from Free Apple iPad They will be up on there and available shortly so dont hang about and sign up for your free ipad (or any other gift) quick!

For full specs and features visit: Apple iPad

You can expect Wi-Fi models shipping in late March. 3G models shipping in April. (This is the Apple.com other country’s are awaiting confirmation.)

Thoughts?

BBC report suggest that the PS3 has been ‘hacked’ by notorious iPhone Cracker, George Hotz.

George Hotz claims that the hack has taken 5 weeks to create which he says allows users to pirated games or home-made software on the PS3. He plans to refine the technique but hopes to soon release the hack online.

The PS3 stands as the only console to not be hacked until now, which has lasted a few years. Hotz has admited that its “very secure system” but nothing is “unhackable”.

Some people may suggest that this will now allow users to install new OS which will allow for backward compatibility for PS2 games.

I can now do whatever I want with the system. It’s like I’ve got an awesome new power – I’m just not sure how to wield it.

LOL?!?!?

Read the full BBC report here: PS3 hack BBC

So what do you think about these claims?

Last night saw the release of a MW2 Patch for Xbox 360/PS3/PC which addressed the issue of the Care Package speed.

Source: gamersblogs.com

Here is the full details of the patch:

“We’ve updated the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, including the following fixes:

- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
- Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency. (PC-ONLY)
- Fixes to prevent various texture hacks (PC-ONLY)

- Fix to prevent various XP hacks, including the prevention of obtaining negative XP.

These fixes, excluding the ones I’ve labeled as (PC-ONLY), are currently in test for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions as well. Before you ask why there is a delay from PC to consoles, it’s because we can update IW-NET directly and therefore the fastest. The console versions require additional testing through their respective manufacturers.”

So the care package exploit/glitch has been addressed so you haters will have to find something else to troll over.

I would like to see more action taken by Microsoft to address the lobby problems. Over the past few days I have noticed that the match making has gone terrible. Im in a party with 4 mates and it can take 5 minutes+ to find a game. When it eventually finds a game it manges to kick you from the lobby. We noticed that if your in a lobby and your mic logo vanishes then your going to be kicked. Sort its out Microsoft, I dont pay 39.99 a year for this service. /rant

Graduate student Daizi Zheng designed a ‘greenphone’ prototype for her final year project, which was powered by the fizzy drink Coca Cola. The prototype can last up to 4 times longer than lithium ion battery’s.

The prototype was developed for giant mobile phone company Nokia, but unfortunately Nokia decided not too develop the prototype further.

Other electronics company’s are also developing bio batteries and other alternatives.

This idea is almost as bizzare as charging your iPod from an onion.

I was browsing YouTube for some decent MW2 montages and came across this little gem. There are some sick knife kills and some even better throwing knife kills. This guy has some sick skills!

Notice how the throwing knife kills go with the music, thought it was pretty cool lmao.

Enjoy :P
