I was browsing through Facebook last night and a friends Facebook status said:

“It makes me sad that there will be a generation brought up thinking that “All The Small Things” is a fucking Jedward original”

This is a very valid point and is a big problem within the mainstream music industry. I’m 19 and I am able to remember the original version by blink 182, however the above quote is so true, in the sense that younger generation will be ‘brainwashed’ into thinking that its a Jedward song.

Jedward were a crowd pleaser on the X factor but frankly cant do much other than dance around a stage. They choose songs that had very little ’singing’ involved. Now they have been rocketed onto our screens and radios with 2 covers of great songs. Is that all they are capable of?

The same thing has happened with the classic “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey, which was covered by the Glee Cast and Big Brother 11. I even saw it with my own eyes, people updating their status with things like “it’s way better than the original” WTF!!!1@*# I mean they mascaraed it, but each to their own as they say.

Dont get me wrong I love most mainstream music, some may even call me a sheep, but if its what I like I cant change what my ears like to hear. It is however a sad state of affairs when an annoying duo, who didn’t even win a talent competition, ruin a classic and then the younger generation become tricked into thinking its their song.

After weeks of boring TV debates, loads of election leaflets through my door, the election is finally coming to an end.

This election is unlike many others as the Liberal Democrats seem to be in with a chance, making it a three horse race, but who will be first past the post?? Im not sure, but whoever gets in better sort the country out. The last thing we want is riots like Greece.

This election has hung parliment all over it. Do you think this is a good or a bad thing? Leave a comment with your response.

If you havent already voted get down to your local polling station, most close at 10 P.M.

Let’s face it, if you haven’t yet here’d or seen anything about the UK General Election 2010 you must be lying under a rock in the Sahara desert.

The way I see it is that every single party is the same, they all promise this and that but when they get into power the promises are not fulfilled. Being a first time voter, everything is new to me, Im going to vote with an open mind, I will be voting based on the things I feel effect me, like student tuition fees and the duty on petrol.

What I find very interesting about this election is how the different parties have embraced social networking, by using social mediums such as youtube, facebook and twitter. It seems that whoever manages to blag his way through the TV debates, gains the lead. This is what worries me, people are just basing their vote on who looks the best on TV, without really looking at the policy. The TV debates have reached around 4 million viewers each debate with Nick Clegg ‘winning’ the first debate and David Cameron ‘winning’ the second debate, but the TV debates are very sugar coated.
I’m still un-decided, but no matter what happens on May the 6th, there needs to be a change for good.

Check out the poll on the right hand side.

Whoooohooooo Britain’s Got Talent is back for 2010 starting this saturday at 8PM on ITV1. No doubt that this year will bring tears and laughter through out the show…I cant wait :D

Last years winners Diversity were my personal favourites all the way through, they were a very talented group of lads who have now gone on to bigger and better things since winning the competition.

Britain’s Got Tallent has been a major success for ITV and as a result its format is used internationally.

I cant wait to see a bit of Amanda Holden :P so dont forget to tune in at 8 O’clock sharp tomorrow.

The recent eruption of the Icelandic volcano has halted flights across Europe and caused flooding in parts of Iceland.

Leading geologist are worried about the greater risk of flooding, after the volcano erupted underneath a glacier.

The plume of ash generated from the eruption has slowly made its way towards the UK and other parts of Europe, which has forced the air control to halt all flights in the UK and some disruption to other parts of Europe, as the risk of engine failure is high.

This diagram below shows how the ash can effect the jet engines on an aircraft.

Here are some more images of the volcano courtesy of the BBC:

Tomorrow is the 163rd Grand National at Aintree so I thought I would do a little post that will help you choose your winner.

TIP 1: AGE – Concentrate on horse aged between 8-12

When choosing your horse its vital that you dont pick a horse that is too old for obvious reasons or too young as young horses tend too have more speed but less stamina.

*Trends reveal that no horse over the age of 12 has one in 86 years.
*Trends also reveal that 10 out of the last 13 winners were aged between 9-11.

TIP 2: The class of the horse.
This is obvious but choose a horse that has class, lower class horse VERY RARELY win the grand national.

Choose a horse rated between 137 – 157 on the day. Last years winner was rated at 148.

TIP 3: Weight of the horse
Another obvious characteristic which is probably the most important and shouldn’t be ignored. It common sense, a horse with more weight is going to find it harder to compete over the full length of the race.

Focus on horses bellow 11st 5lbs, as no horse has won over this weight in over 70 years.

TIP 4: The Stamina
The horses stamina is also crucial as its important that the horse can last the whole 4 miles.

Look at the horses past races to see if he has won a race over 2.5 miles.

There are also alot more factors too look at but this is just a quick summary of characteristic that I would recommend you look at.

You can watch the race live on the 10 April at 1615 BST, BBC TV, 5 live & online.

So there you have it, use these tips wisely and choose the winner :D

Alex Reid has just won Celebrity Big Brother 2010, the last to be commisioned by Channel4. He beat off close opposition from Dane Bowers (2nd) and Vinnie Jones (3rd)

Alex has only recently shot to fame after becoming Jordan’s boyfriend after her very public split up with Peter Andre. Named after Alexander the Great, cage fighter Alex is currently dating model Katie Price. Fighting under the names of Reidenator and The Detanator, he is trained in numerous martial arts including ‘Vale Tudo’ which he describes as “as near as you can get to total mayhem in a controlled environment”

I personally wanted Vinnie to win, but in the last few days I went off him alot and he was shown to be abit of a bully that abused his power so I ended up happy with who won it in the end.

Who did you want to win?
