The recent eruption of the Icelandic volcano has halted flights across Europe and caused flooding in parts of Iceland.

Leading geologist are worried about the greater risk of flooding, after the volcano erupted underneath a glacier.

The plume of ash generated from the eruption has slowly made its way towards the UK and other parts of Europe, which has forced the air control to halt all flights in the UK and some disruption to other parts of Europe, as the risk of engine failure is high.

This diagram below shows how the ash can effect the jet engines on an aircraft.
