MW2 Patch Xbox 360/PS3/PC – Care Package speed patched.

Last night saw the release of a MW2 Patch for Xbox 360/PS3/PC which addressed the issue of the Care Package speed.

Here is the full details of the patch:

“We’ve updated the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, including the following fixes:

- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
- Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency. (PC-ONLY)
- Fixes to prevent various texture hacks (PC-ONLY)

- Fix to prevent various XP hacks, including the prevention of obtaining negative XP.

These fixes, excluding the ones I’ve labeled as (PC-ONLY), are currently in test for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions as well. Before you ask why there is a delay from PC to consoles, it’s because we can update IW-NET directly and therefore the fastest. The console versions require additional testing through their respective manufacturers.”

So the care package exploit/glitch has been addressed so you haters will have to find something else to troll over.

I would like to see more action taken by Microsoft to address the lobby problems. Over the past few days I have noticed that the match making has gone terrible. Im in a party with 4 mates and it can take 5 minutes+ to find a game. When it eventually finds a game it manges to kick you from the lobby. We noticed that if your in a lobby and your mic logo vanishes then your going to be kicked. Sort its out Microsoft, I dont pay 39.99 a year for this service. /rant

MW2- Care Package Marker Glitch Increased Running Speed

Using a Care Package Marker to run faster is NOT, I repeat is NOT a glitch. Alot of people may dislike the whole fact that you can run around with a Care Package Marker at almost twice the speed, but lets just take a moment to look at the facts.

Just in case you haven’t seen it in action check out this video created by Dan:

1) A compressed gas canister is lighter in weight than an SMG or pistol. Its obviously going to increase your speed.

2) In order to get it you must first try and get a 4 kill streak.

3) You are severely handicapped at long distances as your wielding the care package marker not a gun.

4) You are also not reaping the rewards from the care package.

Based on these 4 facts its merely using common sense to gain an advantage over your rivals when using the flanking tactic. When used in open fire its the most useless piece of equipment, this is prime in maps like wasteland.

So either get used to it or rap up.

Modern Warfare 2 leaked

For those who have a flashed xbox 360, you can get your hands on modern warfare 2. There are numerous videos out there that show the guns, perks and game play but I feel this one sums it up the best, thanks goes to chigley.

However im sure you all know that if your caught using a flashed Xbox 360, you can say bye bye to your Xbox live, which will require you to buy a new Xbox live to re-connect.

I’m eagerly anticipating the release, but I wouldn’t go as far as flashing my Xbox 360 to get it 10 days early. I like my Xbox live subscription, as its the only thing that keeps me on Xbox.

On a side note, Ive seen numerous copy’s of Modern Warfare on eBay, which is all foobar. Whats gets me is that there are many auctions for the prestige edition, which are going for in excess of £140.

Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Gameplay Uncut: Flag Runner

On the 28th of August Infinity Ward uploaded this video to their YouTube. It focuses on the Multi-player game-mode Flag Runner (Capture the Flag). For more official videos visit Infinity Wards YouTube Channel.

So far the game-play videos have shown us an insight to many of the new features to come, so here’s a brief outline of some of them we can expect to see online.

- New and different challenges to complete
- Customizable Kill streaks including the AC130 strike.
- Throwing knifes in single and multi-player.
- S.W.O.T Shields
- Host Migration! So no longer will you have to end the game when the host leaves
- Duel wielding for some weapons like Pistols, Uzi etc

Modern Warfare 2 probably is the most anticipated game this year so pre-order now. The game is due for release on the 10th of November 2009.
